Producer-DJ, Chmba has been ripping apart family cassettes for the funkiest mixes since she was 7 years old. Her production is a fusion of afro sounds, future beats, electronic and house grooves. She’s so groovy, she was named 2020 Beat-Making Champion by Beatz By Girls and months later, she dropped, Mtima Rising, a sonic mix through grief, love and joy fusing drums from home with magnetic electronic chords on a heavy bass.

Her performance experience spans festivals, clubs, colleges, collectives, livestreams and other gatherings dating as far back as 2011. Some highlight appearances include Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year (2017), House Of Yes in New York City (2018), SoCreative Festival in Zimbabwe (2020), SSS Festival Johannesburg (2018&2019), opening set for Sho Madjozi in New York City (2018), opening set for Yvonne Chaka Chaka ALA Sherehe (2021) and opening set for Angelique Kidjo and Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada at Women Deliver 2019 with her biggest audience of 8000 people. 

Chmba Ellen Chilemba is a Music Producer, DJ and Activist. She is the Founder of Tiwale, a community center in Malawi supporting girls/women and nonbinary folks through art, education and economic opportunities with 400 community members and having reached 22,000+ youth in campaigns.

Chmba has been named a Forbes’ Africa 30 Under 30, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeeper, Glamour Magazine’s College Woman of the Year, Global Changemaker, Ashoka Future Forward Winner, Global Citizen Youth Advocate, One Young World Ambassador, Commonwealth Awardee for Excellence in Development and a University of the Pacific Powell Emerging Leader.
